Mohammed lives and works in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. Educated in the US from highs school until college, he got his university degree and his MBA from CSU Chico and Western Michigan University respectively. He majored in Business Administration and Economics, and when he graduated he joined AT&T then LUCENT Technologies for 6 years as a Financial Specialist from 1995-2000. Then joined Shamalat Company, a Saudi company in the telecommunication field, for 4 years as general manager. He led the company’s transformation from small scale into being respectable medium scale with annual revenue growing 300% over his reign. He helped to diversify its core businesses and grow in niche markets. After four years of working in Riyadh Mohammed decided to move to Jeddah to be near his aging parents. For the past four years he is involved with his family business (Alarifi Real Estate Investments). His role as a General Manger is to explore investment opportunities for the family’s real estate portfolio as well as manage the properties it owns. He is currently exploring other fields such as tourism and leisure and is venturing into the hotel business. He also does consultancy work for a Finnish firm Fintreat Oy, which markets and develops business relationships for Scandinavian companies in Saudi Arabia. Mohammed recently started a construction & maintenance business, which he uses mainly to do renovations and maintenance work exclusively for properties owned by Alarifi Investments. Mohammed also has some writing contributions to Saudi newspapers and magazines in the fields of business and economics.
